A Slamdance opening party live cinema mashup!

For the world premiere of the science-fiction short Solatrium at Slamdance 2010 the producers of the film teamed up with live cinema guru Naoism for a live mashup at The Star Bar on Main Street in Park City, Utah, on Friday, January 22nd, 2010 during the Slamdance opening night party.

Brian Ziffer – video artist,  composer,  software designer and founder of award-winning audio-visual performance group Naoism – has created music videos and tour visuals for Eminem,  John Digweed, and Thomas Dolby. His live cinema work has been featured at film festivals and new media events worldwide, such as Seattle International Film Festival, Arizona International Film Festival, RES Magazine, and OFFF (Barcelona).

Solatrium meets Naoism in Outer Space, celebrated the Slamdance world premiere of the film and the recent collaboration between Ziffer, Hobbs, and Bower. The 17 minute mashup premiered 24 hours before the film, taking Solatrium to a completely new level of cinematic re-interpretation. Video source files, sound effects, and original composition were reanimated in this visual and sonic tour-de-force glitchfest. Aural and visual hacking meets guerrilla DIY filmmaking!
